Ok so a little background info:

The topics for the next tournament are as follows:

"The national anthem should be changed"

"Plastic bags should be banned"

"Politician's tax returns should be public"

"California should have a part-time legislator"

I'm not sure is anyone reading has different debate experience than I, but just in case:

A POI is a Point of Information, and is basically a potential interruption to the opposing team's speech that the speaker can choose to allow or not

There are four debates at each tournament, so "4 and 0" means 4 wins and no losses.

DOWN WITH SOPA!

Ok, so I'm sure you've all heard about the government censoring anything and everything that goes on the internet. I just want to get this out there: SOPA IS A VIOLATION OF OUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS! We have right to freedom of speech and of the press! Not allowing us to post certain thing online is a DIRECT VIOLATION. Do you really want to give the government the power to violate the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT AMENDMENT IN THE BILL OF RIGHTS? The constitution is the very foundation of our country, and the first amendment is a huge part of that. Violating the first amendment like this is like taking a chunk out the the foundation of the building. It may not topple the building at first, but if it keeps up the entire thing will eventually crumble. CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND TELL THEM NO! I DON'T EVEN POST SWEAR WORDS ONLINE, YET EVEN I'M SAYING NO! I FIRMLY BELIEVE THIS IS A DIRECT VIOLATION OF NOT ONE, BUT TWO OF OUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS AND SHOULD NOT BE PUT INTO AFFECT.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're censoring swear words and such. They already censor swear words in music. Now it'll possibly everywhere on the internet. Where does it end? Right now they're censoring swear words. maybe next they'll censor violent themes, or sexual themes. then after that maybe they'll censor hateful things. That could lead to censoring hateful things about the government. After that, not only is our freedom of speech severely restricted, but the very thing the first amendment was supposed to stop happening has happened!!! The internet may technically not be speaking, but it is a form of press and therefore this would be a direct violation!

Even if it does stop there, THE FACT IS THAT THE GOVERNMENT IS TELLING US WHAT WE CAN AND CAN'T PUT OUT ON THE INTERNET. Do you want the government to monitor your blog posts, then one day say "Sorry, you can't say the f-bomb. Change your post or don't post it"? What if one day you're feeling so angry, and so worked up, and so emotional that the only way you can get across just how freakin angry you are is the f-bomb? No other words can describe it well enough. And then the government comes in and says you're not allowed to express your emotions! I DON'T EVEN SWEAR, AND I'M STILL FIRMLY AGAINST THIS!

Once again,. CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND TELL THEM NO! WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND OF THE PRESS! WE CANNOT HAVE THIS RIGHT TAKEN AWAY FROM US!

Extra Dessert Delights

So, I'm recommending a product in this post. Extra Dessert Delights gum.

It is my favorite gum ever! I've tried every flavor they have, and I really hope they come out with more soon! They have orange creamsicle, mint chocolate chip ice cream, apple pie, strawberry shortcake, and key lime pie. Every one tastes amazing! As close to that dessert as a gum can get - closer than I ever thought possible! I swear, when I chew the apple pie, I can taste the crust and apples and cinnamon and everything. So far my favorite is key lime pie. I've never had real key lime pie, but this gum tastes like a real dessert. It's suuuuuuuuuuuper sweet (although that might just be me, since I don't eat sugar often). So does everything else. The first flavor i ever tried was mint chocolate chip, and when I tasted that piece of gum, I was amazed. It really tastes like eating ice cream! I can hardly tell the flavoring is artificial - it's like someone literally extracted all the taste from a real bowl of ice cream and put it in the gum. I then tried key lime pie, and I was even more shocked. I got the impression that I was literally eating a piece of pie!

All in all, I really recommend this gum. If you're trying to cut out sweets, this is a great replacement. It's sweetened with aspartame, which I believe is a lot less iffy than xylitol, which most gums use (don't take my word for it though - I'm not a chemist). Anyways, yeah!
